The USA is the only nation in the history of the world to detonate nuclear
weapons on a people at war. Our thirty-third president, Harry S. Truman
has the distinction of being the only human being ever to order the use
of nuclear bombs in that manner. In the two attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki
one hundred thousand Japanese civilians died instantly. Another two hundred
thousand suffered the horrific long term effects of our two nuclear attacks.
While it is true that only President Truman, of all world leaders to
date, has actually ordered the detonation of atomic bombs in population
centers, we should remember that since then presidents and premiers from
here to India have been stockpiling and threatening the use of nuclear weapons.
Just as an armed robber uses a handgun to threaten and motivate his victim,
our world leaders have been using nuclear weapons on us for over fifty years.
It's dangerous. And if that's not enough, they make us pay for the damn
things too.
